Summary/Abstract: The Zipser Germans of Maramureş County are a less known German etnic group from Romania. Ever since their arrival in this region starting with the end of the 18th century, this small etnic group has been in close intercultural relation with the other groups (Romanians, Hungarians, Ruthenians, Jews, Roma), their history being closely interwoven with that of the other inhabitants of the area. This paper aims to discuss some aspects of the history of the Zipser Germans from Vişeu de Sus, Maramureş, from an intercultural perspective.
