Summary/Abstract: Trust is a fundamental social phenomenon; however, both its conceptualization and its measurement present serious challenges to researchers. This is because trust is a multi-faceted, complex, elusive and culturally-determined phenomenon. Furthermore, researchers have to take into account the fact that trust is a particularly sensitive subject.
