Summary/Abstract: The article treats one of most important matters of democratic society' development the possibilities to protect the rights and interest of the municipality. According to Bulgarian law a municipality is an independent legal entity. There are several ways to protect the rights and the interest of municipality. The article pays special attention to some of the possibilities through the Constitutional Court. There are: (I) The first one is connected with those Acts of the Constitutional Court that give the opportunity to litigate administrative acts through court; (2) The political unit as local self-government is an independent legal entity; (3) The Citi Council can approach the Constitutional Court when there is a breach of warranty. The article gives information about some of the basic Acts of the Constitutional Court and the procedure of approaching the Constitutional Court by the City Council.
