Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the main theoretical and practical aspects concerning local public finance, showing the importance given to the theme in different economies of some developed countries from the European Union. Only by knowing the positive and negative experiences of these countries, Romania could adopt the best system of local public finance, adapted to the realities and characteristics of its own national economy.
