Summary/Abstract: The globalisation and demographics are the two main forces that shape up the development of the European societies, creating opportunities and also raising many issues. The globalisation, the local and regional processes and phenomena have led to the internationalisation of the organised crime networks that hold a transborder dimenssion. This reflects over the ethnical and religious extremisms, especially in the terrorism issues. Undebatably, the regional demographic differences do contribute to the occurance of many other conflicts between the more developed countries and the others.
