Evidence-based Theories about the Origin of Stuttering

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses theories about the origin and formative mechanism of stuttering with regard to verifiable methods based on neuroimaging, as well as neurophysiology and audiology. The theories presented are interpreted with regard to the model of formation of fluent speech grounded upon the knowledge from the fields of neuropsychology and audiophonology. Conclusions drawn from the discussed theories are posed in reference to speech therapy practice.
