Summary/Abstract: This article is a meditation on the understanding and the practice of the Orthodox tradition. In supportof the two, there have been several contributions in the Romanian religious circles, by spiritualadvisors, theologians, priests, and scholars who held conferences, published books, or organizeddifferent religious manifestations; names such as Rafail Noica, Ioan. I. Ic_ jr, Constantin Coman,Andrei Ple_u, Sorin Dumitrescu et. al. con_ rm that the awareness and re_ ection on the Orthodoxtradition has reached a certain maturity. The author refers to a couple of recently publishedbooks—Contra religiei [against religion] by Christos Yannaras (Anastasia 2011) and Func_ia critic_a credin_ei [critical function of faith] by father André Scrima (Humanitas 2011)—works that fullydemonstrate the maturity of the Orthodox ecclesial consciousness.
