Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to examine whether there is a correlation between the level of spending on healthcare in Poland and selected health indicators. Some European countries have been used as a backgroud. The paper formulates the hypothesis that increased spending on healthcare has a positive effect on the number of life years in the health of both women and men in Poland, and that increased funding for health care is accompanied by a reduction in mortality among infants and children under 5 yearsAs a research method the analysis of statistical information, comparative analysis and review of literature are employed. The data used in the paper come from public databases: Eurostat, OECD and World Bank. In order to verify the research hypotheses Pearson correlation coefficient has been used.
