The role of information systems in decision making

Summary/Abstract: The current article intends to put into discussion the complexity of the contemporary operationalenvironment which implies that military operations are conducted according to decisions based on intelligence provided by varied technical means, personnel, procedures and techniques which are part of the informational system. The quality of the decisions and military operations conducted is highly influenced by the use of robust and flexible informational systems, which comprise of various sensors and multiple means of validating the information gathered by those sensors.
