Summary/Abstract: The study of ethnographic and folklore literature convincingly shows that it contains exceptionally valuable features for historians of philosophy, because the folk world outlook in the course of centuries can be established and 'reconstructed' through it. However, a thorough study of this question is connected with the elucidation of the exact content of its categories, to bring lucidity to the question of the very essence of the folk world outlook. The efforts of the present article are directed to this end; an attempt is made in it to achieve a broader definition of the folk world outlook. This is in view of obtaining for the 'working conception' of the folk world outlook the respective practical reflection in the sphere of ethnography and folklore. The author maintains the view that the functioning folk world outlook cannot and should not be considered as a system, ensuing from the generally-confirmed understanding of the conception world outlook, but should rather be taken as an aggregate in which there are also systemic formations. Such an idea about the functioning of the folk world outlook offers a possibility for a 'more supple' attitude to the folk world outlook in a practical aspect, i. e. only those view and ideas in the aggregate which correspond to time and conditions can be changed.
