Summary/Abstract: This article is about solitude in Illuminations autitistes by Hédi Bouraoui, a Franco-Ontarian Tunisian born author. Solitude is analyzed in the context of disciplinary modes proper to the psychiatric institution. It is also considered as a mode of resistance against this same institution and the mechanisms of social domination that legitimize it. This study emphasizes on language as a domain of exercise of power.
