Summary/Abstract: The article provides an initial recognition of paradoxes in strategic management;which are the subject matter of a research project with the aforementioned name. In its methodological layer the project comprises a conceptual part with theoretical models; a formal part encompassing symbolic (mathematical) models; and an empirical one connected with the diagnosis of reality and the explanation thereof by means of research models. At the present stage the research outcomes of the project are not linked to its main course of investigation and consist mainly in the exploration of management paradoxes. Attention has been given to a special type of paradoxes; namely ambidexterity; which; thanks to a proper exploitation and exploration configuration; according to many researchers quoted here (among others); is a carrier of efficient development of companies.
