Summary/Abstract: The growing competition makes it necessary to learn the competitive “martial arts” by a company to acquire a potential customer. Effective management is the ability to combine theoretical and practical knowledge of management in operation so that one can find answers to the questions: how to seize the opportunity and win the battle against aggressive competition? How to protect the company against threats? How to reduce weaknesses and exploit the strengths of the company? Modern managers realize how difficult challenges are being faced by the company in the XXIst century. The successful operation of the company is also mastering by the managers the modern management methods and skills to develop and implement optimal strategies; not only to stay on the market or skillfully cope with emergencies; but also in order to effectively build a competitive advantage of the companies they run. The author of this paper attempts to characterize the strategic actions taken by the staff of middle and senior management on the basis of market-oriented approach; based on empirical research.
