Some aspects of safety culture at technical university

Summary/Abstract: Health and safety is an integral part of the functioning of any business. In the case of specific organizations such as universities; we need to put higher standards in the area of safety; especially in the context of education at technical universities. Ensuring adequate safety standards for workers and a huge crowd of students should be reinforced by the attitude and activity of the teaching staff; which could make the teaching process more efficient and helpful in building a culture of security in the organization. The aim of the paper is to assess knowledge in the area of university health and safety of workers; especially in relation to academic staff. The study was conducted on one of the technical faculties with a prepared questionnaire. It has shown a relatively low level of knowledge and awareness of employees and imperfections in taken actions shaping a culture of safety at the university.
