Summary/Abstract: In the present article the ritual cross-dressing has been analysed as characterstic of specific biosocial communities. The stress is put on the syncretism as a possible discourse of the cross-dressing ritual complex. The analysis is based on the Bulgarian folk masquerade tradition.
