Summary/Abstract: The rapid pace of changes and increasing complexity of the environment cause that the activities of modern enterprises are based on implementation, not only economic aims, and therefore striving to the growth of value, but also to the realization of social tasks, including environmental and ethical ones. Accordingly, more important become methods and management tools based on a sense of responsibility for impact that business activities has on the environment. Of course the undisputed is the fact that a profit which is the driving force of the development of business has got crucial meaning for it, but in the face of growing awareness of the wide range of stakeholders it is essential to balance the objectives in the area of ethics, ecology and economics. Therefore a prerequisite in the process of value creation is to include obligations to the owners, employees and communities, as well as the environment.. This article aims to show social responsibility CSR in the light of the considerations of Milton Friedman, taking into account today’s market realities.
