"Powrót Odysa". On Tadeusz Brzozowski in Kantors Theatre

Summary/Abstract: The author of this text, the son of the acclaimed painter Tadeusz Brzozowski, actor in the underground Kantor Theatre, tells about his father while using preserved documents and reminiscences of members of the family and friends, and, predominantly, his own. A presentation of a rather littleknown episode in the biography of Tadeusz Brzozowski who acted in the Kantor Theatre in Cracow at the time of World War II in „Balladyna” (premiere in 1943 in a private home) and was the lead character in „Powrót Odysa” („The Return of Odysseus”, 1944). he last appeared in „Niegodzien i godni” („The Unworthy and the Worthy”) by Józef Czechowicz, staged by Kantor upon the occasion of the inauguration of the “Rotunda” Academic Youth Theatre in Cracow.
