ALFONSAS NYKA-NILIŪNAS: A LIFE PROJECT

Summary/Abstract: This paper reconstructs, in the textual field of Diary Fragments, the repeated efforts of Nyka-Niliūnas to consciously apperceive, shape, and cultivate his ‘I’. These efforts come out in his self-characterizations, his descriptions of the field constituting his selfhood, the demands he places on himself, and his projections into the future, as well as in his peculiar passéist, retrospective projection that centers existence on some point in one’s autobiographical past. The internal fissures, limits, and their transgressions in this life project are observed in the life-changing experiences of ecstatic happiness and despair. Straipsnyje, remiantis Dienoraščio fragmentais, rekonstruojama vis atsinaujinanti Nykos-Niliūno pastanga sąmoningai suvokti, formuoti ir kultivuoti savąjį aš. Ši pastanga įžvelgiama ne tiktai autocharakteristikose, savasties lauko apibūdinimuose, sau pačiam keliamuose reikalavimuose ir ateities numatymuose, bet ir ypatingame paseistiniame ir retrospekciniame projektavime, perkeliančiame savosios egzistencijos centrą į vieną ar kitą autobiografinės praeities tarpsnį. Šio gyvenimo projekto vidiniai pertrūkiai, ribos ir užribiai aptinkami lemtinguose ekstatinės laimės ir nelaimės išgyvenimuose.
