Summary/Abstract: Between 1599 and 1637 a thirtieth customs office operated in Cluj, it’s registers being one of the most important and detailed sources concerning the commercial activity of both the town of Cluj, Transylvania as well as the whole South-eastern and Central Europe from the first half of the 17th century. Since the registers, kept together with other economic registers of the town, were previously published by Pap Ferenc, their information became easily accessible for the researchers. However, the published material does not cover the whole period of the existence of the custom. The aim of our paper is to publish some missing parts of these sources, namely the custom register from 1631, which – being kept separately from the other registers of the same kind – remained mainly unknown to the research. Furthermore, the introduction tries to underline some preliminary conclusions that are to be drawn from these sources.
