Summary/Abstract: In this paper, there are presented the main results obtained through the study of a batch of 18 ceramic fragments, analysed at binocular microscope and at optical microscope in polarised light. These sherds come from Chalcolithic pots found in the tell settlement from Bordușani Popină, Ialomița County, and attributed to Gumelnița culture, phase A2. Thus, following the petrographic analysis three categories of ceramic fabric were confirmed, which were observed at macroscopic level and at stereomicroscope – fine, semi-fine and coarse – with some notable differences regarding the textural, of the microstructure, of the porosity and also compositional features.
