Summary/Abstract: The author makes a few arguments to show that modernism is a troubled, problematic, unconvincing worldview. His remarks are to provide some pointers for a complete critique of modernism and a defense of the Western civilization. The modernism, according to the author, has come to involve the following fourfold set of beliefs: epistemological skepticism, naturalism, animalism, and moral ahumanism (including moral skepticism, nihilism, and utilitarian ahumanism). The author argues that those of us who want to defend Christian wisdom and the Western civilization must understand the precepts of the modernist, secular humanist worldview and find the courage to challenge them.
