Summary/Abstract: It is a basic matter in everyone’s life that s/he wants to be happy. It is linked to the actual life experience. This fact asks for an interdisciplinary analysis. The content of life experience is defined by the definition and acknowledgement of needs under the given social circumstances. Postmodernism favours individual value choices and the loss of social control over norms. A person’s ideal on a happy life is profoundly shaped by the social pressure and the contemporary expectations, the period s/he lives in. But when trying to fit in, one can feel alone and uncertain, a heavy burden on the person seeking happiness. Renewal of community control and faith in it are the necessary elements in order to regain certainty from its postmodern ad hoc situation, a prison for it. Also values of religion, rediscovering the religious values could be of great help.
