Summary/Abstract: Today parody is the semantically active image of poverty. Parody is not just an aesthetic, cultural and literary phenomenon, it is primarily a mental phenomenon of postmodernity. It is an ontological state of humiliation or the horizon of a worldview devoid of values. Parody has become the spiritual hegemon of the present – an arbitrary, self-styled total style and totalitarian style. There is always something vulnerable in it, something damaged, imperfect. It claims, but only seemingly, to represent the struggle for perfection through imperfection. But the misery of parody is not just poverty. It is primarily nonsense; it is an irrelevant effort, a constant repetition of what is automatic, of the non-living; it is a loss without remorse.
