Summary/Abstract: The meanings and categories of Lithuanian denominal and deadjectival verbs have been described more than once. Here it is argued that these descriptions could be made more systematic by applying a model of three-mode predication (essive, inchoative and causative) and by analysing syntactic and semantic features of the base words in derivational paraphrases.
