Summary/Abstract: The present paper depicts the influence of the “Society of Jesus” in Transylvania and Moldavia between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and is based upon several reports of foreign travelers. These accounts were written by Jesuit missionaries and provide the reader with essential evidence that confirm their presence in Eastern Europe and describe their activity in the context of the Counter Reformation.
