Summary/Abstract: Presented study is an accession to the bicentennial birth anniversary of Ludovit Stur, historical figure, which initiated the modern Slovak national culture. It has the character of scientific consideration or essay. The author reflects in it the language-codification and wider cultural, ergo edifying activities of Ludovit Stur. The aim of the author's reasoning is demythologised the personality of Stur in some of its points and refute certain stereotypes binding to his life and to linguistic work.
