Summary/Abstract: Throughout 1918 and especially with the beginning of the collapse of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy, the issue of recognizing the right of the Banat region to unify with the Romanian Kingdom was included in the politic-diplomatic demands of different Romanian groups who were active in Paris. Moreover, there were also some measures taken into consideration, in order to form a national, political body recognized and accepted by the representatives of the Allied Powers, namely the National Council of Romanian Unity. With the promise of the recognition of the union of Banat with the Kingdom of Romania, considering also the reality of the occupation of Banat by the Serbian military troops, the negotiations began at the Paris Peace Conference.
