Summary/Abstract: This article aims to examine the concept of development of sectoral technology platforms as a mechanism of innovative development, which allows mobilization of the whole range of available resources into a coordinated system focused on the achievement of the stated priorities of the national sci-tech and innovation policy. As an infrastructural object, a technology platform is an element of the national innovation infrastructure, oriented at a long-term prospective development within the frames of the applicable technological foresight methodology. We discuss Russian and foreign experience of applying the technology platform concept for resolving the issue of forming an innovative environment that supports high-tech development of the national economy. Also, a comparative analysis of created technology platforms on the sectoral principle, using the method of paired comparisons, is provided.
