Summary/Abstract: The author is proposing some significant corrections to a short text, graved in marble, by which is resumed (for the use of visitors or interested people) one of the most attractive building of nowadays Iaşi, and sometime one of the older historical monuments of the former Moldavian capital, the Army Palace, or the Great Barrack of Copou. Taking in account some new historical sources on this subject, conserved by the rich National Archives of Iaşi, the author is bringing more informations on the construction’s beginning in 1850 year, not 1852, on the first arhitect who projected and supervised entire work (at least on the beginning), Al. Costinescu, not only P. A. Tobai, and finally, on the initiator, who was not the former Moldavian hospodar, Grigore Al. Ghica, but his predecessor, Michael Sturdza. The merit of the former consists in taking over of the older idea of the later (since 1845) and to put it into practice. One more interesting point consists in implication in that event of Michael Kogălniceanu, in his capacity of Director of Moldavian Department of Public Working.
