Summary/Abstract: Through this paper we offer a general perspective over the attitudes of and the way in which the Romanian press presented and analysed the Polish insurrection in 1863-1864. In a troubled and challenging time for Europe and equally for the young Romanian state the press proved to be permanently connected to all issues that had anything to do not only with the continental political and diplomatic situation, but also with the national interests of the Romanians.
