Summary/Abstract: A part of American public and some media simplify portrayal of the Islam presenting it as a religion of the East and has no reference to American society nor the history the United States of America. This article attempts to point out the deceptiveness of such a portrayal. Insight documented negotiations about the text of the Constitution of USA from the 18th century show the wish of the Founding Fathers of the US that the Muslims should also be included within the concept of the American civil society as equal citizens along with other religious communities. The initial points for this claim are the First ten amendments to the constitution of the USA and the attitude of the Founders of the USA towards the Islam and the Muslims that are presented in the book Thomas Jefferson’s Qur’an: Islam and the Founders.
