The environmentally-friendly activity of farms in the aspect of Agri-environmental Programme realization

Summary/Abstract: Farmers are obligated to perform many tasks which are especially oriented to soil protection, in frame of agri-environmental supporting. However, regardless of the production and implementation of the Agri-enviromental Programme, adopted crop-rotation and soil cultivation should play a protective, and preservative role to the soil and its fertility. The aim of this study is to evaluate selected pro-environmental actions made in individual farms, which has embarked on a five-year agri-environmental plan 2011-2015. Sixteen individual farms located in Opole Voivodeship were verified. The assessment was made using traditional indicators and agri-environmental measures. Information obtained from the 5-year agri-environmental plans and through direct interviews with farmers, allow for the conclusions that conducted agricultural activities often require changes in the direction of environmentally efficient soil management.
