Summary/Abstract: The research focuses on the changes in the German model of coordinated market economy (CME) which have occurred since the beginning of the twenty-first century. In the article the most important changes were described: 1) the reforms of Agenda 2010 2) an increasing role of the external economic policy in German foreign policy and 3) institutional arrangements, such as the Single European Market and the Eurozone, which created a qualitatively new context for the German economy. As far as the outlook for the coordinated market economy in Germany was considered, it was stated that changes in the German model would occur primarily due to the pressure from other European countries, especially partners from the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) as well as in response to internal problems such as the need for the modernization of German infrastructure, increase in investments and wage growth. The survey was conducted by a qualitative method and refers to the scientific perspective of varieties of capitalism.
