Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the results of empirical research on the importance of knowledge of cultural differences in the process of expansion on foreign markets and the need for further training among Polish foreign investors. The presentation of the results is preceded by theoretical considerations about the process of learning and intercultural trainings. In addition, the paper presents a set of guidelines for the preparation of intercultural trainings for foreign investors, which can be used by training companies or business-related organizations that support investors. The research shows that a greater awareness of the importance of cultural differences and the desire to improve cross-cultural knowledge (also in the form of trainings) exists among companies that already have some experience in cross-cultural contacts and that are planning to expand into overseas markets. Trainings should have an active form, involving a participant who should be able to experience intercultural problems during the meeting. Companies value meetings with practitioners who can give first-hand information.
