Podejście instytucjonalne w okresie obecnego kryzysu gospodarczego na przykładzie koncepcji path dependence
Institutional approach in the contemporary economic crisis time on the example of path dependence concept

Summary/Abstract: In the article, a hypothesis was put forward that the contemporary financial andeconomic crisis became the reason for the intensification of research based on institutionalapproach. The purpose of considerations is an attempt to answer the question on significanceof history (history matters) in explaining phenomena related to crisis. In this scope, the articleuses the example of a described in the subject’s literature case proving that during the presentcrisis, it was among others path dependence that decided to a great extent on the choice ofdifferent anti-crisis strategies in Germany and USA [Silvia 2011, pp. 1–12]. Considerationsbased on the subject’s literature proved the usefulness of institutional approach, includinginstitutional-evolutionary theory and historical comparative institutional analysis, inexplaining economic phenomena related to contemporary economic crisis. This is significantfor the development of economic sciences, as well as for designing desired changes in theeconomic policy.
