Socio-Pedagogic Aspects of the Manifestation of Violence on Children in the Family

Summary/Abstract: Domestic violence is not only a family problem, it is a public problem leaving the consequences on the society members, especially the youngest ones – children. This paper will present a part of the research conducted in 2015 on a stratified occasional sample of 53 Mostar families (women, men and children as victims of violence), in whose families violence occurred in 2014. By means of Likert five-point scale, the research resulted in an ad hoc insight into the manifestations of domestic violence, especially on children, in the Mostar City area. The research results suggest the importance of joint approach of the local community in preventing domestic violence, this through urgent initiatives of early intervention of responsible institutions and the duty of individuals and victims to report violence if they come to know of its.
