Summary/Abstract: This paper questions the role of Foucault’s philosophy in contemporary feminist theory and gender studies. The goal is to portray how concepts of discourse, power and sexuality, as defined by Michel Foucault, can be used for better understanding the process of construction of female or male subjectivity. This text intends to deconstruct the role of aforementioned concepts in a postmodern understanding of gendered subject of desire and to point out the importance and contribution of Foucault’s philosophy for development of feminist theory and politics.
