Summary/Abstract: The article concentrates on the analysis of the category of evidentiality expressed in the Nganasan language in verbal morphology. Three moods — renarrative, inferential, acceptive — form the Nganasan evidential system which is heterogeneous in its semantics. Within the framework of these moods the evidential meanings are interwoven with different modal meanings.
