Summary/Abstract: In this article the author deals with a theme of mystical speculation that regards the question of whether the human being can reach a complete union with the origin or principle of being within the context of Nicholas of Cusa’s notion of imago repraesentationis. In Nicholas of Cusa, this question is posed in terms of the unfolding of the human being’s freedom, as imago imitationis creata, through that personal union with the Absolute.
