THE ‘TIME-IN-BETWEEN’ OF TRANSLATION

Summary/Abstract: There are two movements in the process of translating, an analytic movement in the source language, that goes from the unities of effect in the discours to the unities of potency that compose them, and a synthetic movement that attempts to redo that movement in the target language. But how is it even possible to jump from one language to another, keeping the constitutive relations of the translated discours? By approaching the problem from the point of view of operative times, it is possible to think of a time-in-between that renders back and forth movements from one language to the other possible.
