Summary/Abstract: The income of the most popular bookshop owned by the Fishers decreased significantly due to the First World War. It was similar in the case of other companies operating in Lodz. The significant losses were also connected with confiscations and seizures performed by the German occupants, as well as lack of payments undertaken for the former orders. The data gathered by the Local Evaluation Committee make it possible to familiarize with the specifics of lost goods and their amount, as well as with the statements of the employees and representatives of other companies cooperating with the bookshop. The aforementioned documentation is a valuable source of information, especially when it comes to the condition of bookshops in Lodz during the Great War.
