Summary/Abstract: The present article introduces in Romania the concept of „psychology in war”, as a distinct part of military psychology. Thereby we try to shape answers to a series of questions which aim to acknowledge the „psychology in war” as a distinct division of the psychology study in general and especially of military psychology. These questions refer to: What can be said about the psychology of war?, What is the psychology of war?, Which is its fi eld of study?, What research methods uses the psychology of war?, Who are the targeted persons?, What kind of problems can it solve?, Which are the main concepts in the psychology of war?, What are the specific traits which separate the psychology of war from the military psychology?
