Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the present paper is to bring to attention some administrative and conceptual measures to be taken in the selection and training of Romanian Special Operation Forces (ROU SOF). I have based my present work on the Romanian Special Operation Forces Tenants on the ideea that human factor is more important than the technical aspects, quality is more important than quantity and that SOF cannot be mass produced because they regenerate slow and can’t be created in short time. In order to depict the requirement I will use examples from our missions in different Theatres of operations, explaining that we need to improve and develop our selection and training tools. I have used the available information and personal experiences at the unclassifi ed level to illustrate our evolution and to identify some of the measures to improve.
