The Suburbanisation and living conditions In suburban area of Poznań and Wrocław

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to compare suburbanisation process in suburban area of Poznań and Wrocław. Level of living conditions was determined on the basis of available statistical data using a synthetic indicator Hellwig. A relevant question of the research was to specify the relationship of migration of the population to the suburban areas with regard to changes in living conditions. It has been shown that municipalities near Poznań tend to be more volatile than the value of index of living conditions surrounding municipality of Wrocław. In both areas, the living conditions value has improved over the last decade. It was confirmed that municipalities which characterized by the largest increase in the index of living conditions also have the highest balance of migration.
