The evaluation of activities of local government for the development of tourism in rural areas in the Lublin region

Summary/Abstract: The local government fulfil a large role in creating the local tourism market, but in many cases their activity is insufficient. The development of tourism in rural areas give a chance to obtain an additional source of income for people, who turn away from agriculture, and allows tourists to go on holiday for a relatively low price. The object of the study was to analyze the activities of the local government for the development of tourism in rural areas in the Lublin Province. The study included 193 communes, which were evaluated for financial, organizational, promotional and informational activities.
