Influence of demographic changes on the Polish labour market – economic aspects

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to identify economic aspects of demographic changes that have an influence on the Polish labour market. It was identified by analysing potential labour force (actual data 1980-2009 and the forecast to 2035). The analysis covered dynamics, the level and structure of potential labour force and relations between working and non-working age population. The results of analysis enabled to distinguish three main economic aspects of demographic changes influencing Polish labour market: the fluctuation of level and development tendency of the potential labour force numbers; changes in relations between working age population and pre and post-working age population; the process of ageing of potential labour force.
