Ion Creangă's literary work, widely read among the Transylvanian Romanians, was repeatedly praised by the press of this province. After the writer's death in 1889, the Transylvanian literary-cultural periodicals also drew the attention on the endeavors to editing the complete works of the writer Ion Creangă.
