Summary/Abstract: The innovation sphere is the core of structural changes in any economic system and characteristics of this sphere determine the speed and quality of economic transformations. Taking into consideration that the Republic of Moldova is negotiating about the EU accession, the innovation strategy ensures consistency, coherence and complementarity of policies at the national and community level. At the same time, the strategy supports the need to define innovative strategies and policies based on both national particularities of the Republic of Moldova and the geopolitical context it is in.
