Summary/Abstract: Online Communication is a vital method of communication that some teachers resort to in the process of teaching/ learning foreign languages. The method is good and reasonable, but its application, in our point of view, is worn out and exaggerated. One of the advantages of Online Communication is free access which allows students to have plenty of space or a wide scope to practice the target language. When learners are free in the use of language (i.e. the choice of the subject and the partner), the communication could be extended and expanded. But, this use of language, which is outside the teaching situation, could affect the language-knowledge acquired in the classroom because of the inattention to form i.e. to morphology and syntax. When the learner is busy with a communicative situation, he would often commit voluntary or involuntary faults in the target language. Therefore, we must refer to a guided type of Online Communication in the process of teaching/learning of foreign languages.
