Summary/Abstract: This article is aimed to present the specific character of religious and ethnic relations in areas along the border between Poland and Belarus based on the example of Podlasie region. The article outlines the history of ethnic and religious relations in the Podlasie region in the context of changing historical circumstances and it presents the contemporary state of these relations as well as prospects related to identity changes taking place in Polish society.
